Terms and Conditions

Offer Overview

These Terms and Conditions apply to Flenley Financial Group’s $1,000 Home Loan Cash Bonus Offer (“the Offer”). The Offer is available to customers in all Australian states and territories who:

  1. Complete the Flenley 42K Challenge in the Runkeeper app during the official campaign period, and
  2. Are approved for and settle a qualifying home loan of $400,000 or more with Flenley Financial Group (referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”).

 

This is not a game of chance or a random draw. The $1,000 cashback is guaranteed for eligible customers who complete the challenge and meet the loan requirements outlined below.

By accepting a qualifying home loan and this Offer, you (the “Customer”) agree to the following terms and conditions, which form part of your home loan agreement.

Eligibility Criteria

Runkeeper 42K Challenge Requirement

To be eligible for the cashback, you must complete the Flenley 42K Challenge in the Runkeeper app. This involves running or walking a total of 42 kilometres during the campaign period.

Completion must be verifiable via the Runkeeper app using your registered email address or name. This Offer is exclusive to individuals who complete the challenge in full during the campaign period. Customers who do not complete the 42km will not be eligible, even if they settle a qualifying home loan

Qualifying Home Loan

The Offer is only available for customers who are approved for and settle a new qualifying home loan of $400,000 or more with Flenley Financial Group. A qualifying home loan means a new home loan (for purchase or external refinance of a residential property) that meets our standard lending criteria and any specific requirements for this promotion. Existing Flenley home loans that are simply refinanced or restructured within Flenley Financial Group may not be eligible (the Offer is intended for new lending).

Customer Eligibility

The Offer is open to individuals 18 years or older who are Australian residents and who meet our credit approval and responsible lending criteria. All home loan applications are subject to Flenley Financial Group’s normal credit approval process and lending regulations. Standard fees, charges, and terms of the loan product will apply independently of this Offer.

One Offer per Loan

The $1,000 cash bonus is limited to one per loan. If a loan has multiple co-borrowers, the Offer is still only applied once to that loan (not per borrower). Customers taking out more than one separate qualifying loan can receive a bonus for each loan (subject to eligibility), but the Offer cannot be combined or used in conjunction with any other promotional offer, rebate, or discount from Flenley, unless we explicitly allow it in writing.

Exclusions

The Offer is not transferable or redeemable for any alternative benefit. Employees, agents, or affiliates of Flenley Financial Group may be ineligible for the Offer if such restrictions apply (check with your Flenley representative for employee eligibility rules). We reserve the right to decline offering the bonus to any customer who does not meet these criteria or if providing the bonus would breach any law or regulation.

$1,000 Cash Bonus Payment

Payment Timing

Eligible customers will receive a one-time cash bonus of AUD $1,000 after their loan settles (final settlement date). This bonus will be paid within 60 days (approximately two months) of the final settlement of the loan, provided all conditions of the Offer have been met — including successful completion of the Runkeeper challenge. “Final settlement” refers to the date the home loan is fully advanced – e.g. upon property purchase settlement or completion of a refinance (when funds are drawn and any prior mortgage is paid out).

Payment Method

The $1,000 bonus will typically be deposited into an account of your choice with Flenley Financial Group (such as your Flenley transaction account or offset account linked to the home loan). If you do not have an appropriate Flenley account, we may arrange an alternative payment method (e.g. electronic funds transfer to another account in your name or a bank cheque). We will notify you of the payment method if it differs from a direct deposit.

Conditions at Payment

At the time of bonus payment, your home loan must be active and not in default. If your loan is in arrears, in the process of being discharged, or you have otherwise breached your loan conditions, we reserve the right to withhold the $1,000 payment until such issues are resolved (or deny the payment if you become ineligible). However, simply making normal prepayments or maintaining a good repayment history will not affect your entitlement to the bonus.

No Substitution or Exchange

The cash bonus is provided as Australian dollars currency. It will not be substituted with any other reward, credit, offset to your loan balance, or interest rate discount. This Offer is a standalone cash incentive and does not change your loan amount, repayments, interest rate, or any other loan terms.

24-Month Retention Requirement

Continuous Banking Requirement

By accepting this Offer, you agree to remain with Flenley Financial Group as your home loan provider for a minimum continuous period of 24 months immediately following the loan’s settlement date. This means you should not refinance your home loan with another lender, nor fully pay out and close your loan, before 24 months (2 years) have elapsed from settlement. The 24-month period is calculated from the day after settlement to the same date 24 months later (for example, if your loan settles on January 15, 2025, you agree to remain until at least January 15, 2027).

Purpose of Retention

This retention period is a condition of receiving the $1,000 bonus. Flenley Financial Group is investing in a long-term relationship with you by providing this upfront cash benefit; in return, we require that you maintain your home loan with us for at least two years. You are of course free to refinance or terminate your loan at any time as allowed by your loan contract and law, but doing so within the first 24 months will trigger the repayment obligation described below.

No Partial Satisfaction

Simply keeping the loan open in a reduced capacity (such as paying it almost off but not closing it) does not avoid the 24-month requirement unless the loan remains officially open and with Flenley as the lender. The full 24-month tenure is required to fully earn the bonus without any repayment obligation. There is no option to “pay back” a portion of the bonus for leaving a few months early – the requirement is all or nothing. In short, if you leave early, you must repay the entire $1,000 (see below).

Early Termination and Bonus Repayment

Obligation to Repay if Leaving Early

If the home loan is discharged, refinanced with another lender, or otherwise voluntarily closed by you within the first 24 months from settlement, you must repay the $1,000 cash bonus in full to Flenley Financial Group. There is no pro-rata or partial repayment formula – regardless of whether you leave 1 month or 23 months after settlement, the full $1,000 becomes payable.

No Pro-Rata Repayment

No pro-rata benefit applies. You will not be entitled to keep any portion of the $1,000 if you do not fulfill the 24-month tenure. For example, leaving after 18 months does not mean you keep 75% of the bonus – the entire $1,000 must be returned.

Repayment Process

In the event that you refinance or close your loan early (within 24 months), Flenley Financial Group will notify you of the requirement to return the $1,000. We may, at our discretion, automatically add the $1,000 amount to your loan discharge payout figure (the final amount required to pay off your loan) so that it is repaid as part of your closing settlement. Alternatively, we may invoice you or require you to otherwise reimburse the $1,000 directly to us. By agreeing to these terms, you authorize Flenley Financial Group to include this $1,000 repayment in your payout calculation or to debit any of your accounts with us for this amount if necessary.

Legal Compliance on Early Termination

This repayment requirement is not a penalty or fee, but rather the return of a conditional bonus if the conditions are not met. It will be enforced only to the extent permitted by law. If any law or regulation prohibits or limits the enforcement of this repayment clause, Flenley Financial Group will comply with all such laws. Nothing in these terms is intended to restrict your right to switch lenders; it simply requires the bonus to be returned if you do so within 24 months.

General Terms and Conditions

Offer Availability

This Offer is available for a limited time and may be withdrawn or changed at any time at Flenley’s discretion for new loan applications. Any such variation or withdrawal will not affect customers who have already entered into a loan contract and met all requirements of the Offer at that time.

Standard Loan Terms Unaffected

These promotional terms are in addition to the standard terms and conditions of your home loan. All usual loan obligations remain in effect and are outlined in your loan agreement. In the event of any inconsistency between these Offer terms and your formal loan contract terms, the loan contract terms (and any mandatory laws) will prevail.

No Waiver

Failure by Flenley Financial Group to enforce any of these conditions immediately does not constitute a waiver of our rights. Similarly, if an exception is made for one customer, it does not imply that exceptions will be made for others.

Responsible Lending and Approval

All lending is subject to the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth) and related regulations, including responsible lending assessments. This Offer does not constitute an unconditional lending commitment or approval.

Consumer Protection

These terms are intended to comply with all relevant consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or guarantees you may have under statute.

Taxation Implications

Flenley Financial Group makes no representations about the tax treatment of the $1,000 bonus. You are solely responsible for any taxation liability or implications that may arise from receiving this cash bonus.

Changes in Details

If your contact or banking details change, it is your responsibility to inform us so that we can arrange the payment correctly.

Fraud or Misconduct

Flenley Financial Group reserves the right to disqualify customers or reclaim the bonus if fraud, dishonesty, or manipulation of the Offer’s intent occurs.

Offer Documentation

These Terms and Conditions may be included in your loan documentation and must be agreed to before the loan is finalized.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Offer and its Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia and the state or territory in which your loan contract is formed.

Acknowledgment and Acceptance

By proceeding with a qualifying home loan and accepting the $1,000 cash bonus, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
